They came 50,000 years ago
Island-hopped to these Southern lands.
Only cut off from each other
just 6000 years ago.
They are the Australian Aborigines, Kanaks, ni-Vanuatu, Solomon Islanders and the people from PAPUA NIUGINI.

* ‘spirit connections’ is used in reference to this most interesting passage from Connolly and Anderson’s FIRST CONTACT (1987), where they write that the Highlanders who first contacted Europeans said: "They obviously had a strong and successful relationship with the spirit world, and it was that relationship that gave them access to and control of enormous wealth, they were men of all things." To me, that spirit relationship in us Europeans is with our intellect, our emotions, our imagination, our hopes and aspirations, our sensations and our intuition.
